Ubuntu Gets New Display Server, Goes Rolling Release? openSUSE 12.3 Released

It’s only been a week and a half or so, but a TON has happened in the Linux world since I last talked about it. Canonical is shaking things up, the community isn’t happy, but at least we’ve got games to play. ;) Check out the video for all of the details!

Again, an excellent coverage of the latest distro news.

I’m quite happy with your announcement to rededicate some of your time to distro reviews.

An off-topic comment: Perhaps nobody has ever told you, but from a linguistic point of view (I’m a German English teacher), your diction is excellent.

I agree, your diction is excellent.

Hi there, just a clarification on Arch’s release model. They release an iso (monthly so far!) with the latest changes. The system is typically pulled from online repositories during installation, so you still always receive the latest and greatest software.

So it seems like the proposed Ubuntu release model is similar to Arch’s, with the addition of a stable LTS release (which, for Ubuntu’s purposes I totally agree).

Great article, and just subscribed to your YouTube page thanks to this.
